These are 10 lessons I took from the Book Clear Thinking by Shane Parish.
1️⃣ The pain of regret is worse than the pain of failing.
Regretting not trying will haunt you for the rest of your life. The pain of failure is short lived. Learn from it & move on. Take more risks.
2️⃣ If you do what everyone else does you can expect the results that everyone else gets.
Do you want to be average? 👀 I don’t!
if you also don’t click here.
3️⃣ Show me your role models and I’ll show you your future.
4️⃣ Surround yourself with people who raise the bar & make you want to be a better version of yourself.
Notice who brings out the best in you. Now get more of them in your life. I’ve found this is the easiest way to level up.
5️⃣ Inspiration and excitement get you you started but only routine & discipline keep you going
…Most rely solely on the former and thus struggle to get results.
6️⃣ A large part of success is having the self control to do what needs to be done even if you don’t feel like doing it in the moment
7️⃣ Start living your life as if you’re going to die. Remind yourself that life is short. Remind yourself often.
8️⃣ Set standards you expect of yourself.
I call these non negotiables. But I like the frame of standards that you hold.
9️⃣ The longer you avoid the hard thing you know you need to do…
The harder it becomes to do.
Self control is the space between reacting and responding
You have the power to determine how you respond to emotionsSelf control allows you to keep emotion in check
Excellent list!
