Yesterday we had a group coaching call on commit to 6
Here are 3 key take aways that will help you enjoy Easter MORE without impacting your fat loss goals.
Gavin - Enjoy the hell out of 1 beer and ask yourself:
what will the second beer bring me that the first won’t?
*apply this to easter eggs, pizza, ice cream etc. What will the next bite bring you that the previous bite didn’t?
There is a law of diminishing returns when it comes to the enjoyment of food. You get 90% of the enjoyment of the pizza from the first 2 slices. Get better at stopping there.
& from Tara - Eat half the easter egg, enjoy it and leave the rest for later. It is an excellent way to practice some balance.
We often think the key to fat loss is to nail the right calorie target or do some ‘fat burning’ cardio. It’s actually this, finding balance.
Want to get better at it? Practice the reps just like you would in the gym.
& of course, the Commit to 6 mantra:
Compromise not sacrifice.
What most people miss is that you will enjoy food MORE if you:
a) Slow down
b) Eat mindfully
c) Limit it
Reminder: Overeating isn’t particularly enjoyable.
Think about it like this: You’re not limiting chocolate because of the calories, you’re limiting it because you want to enjoy it MORE.
If you have something all the time it’s no longer a ‘treat’…
There is no anticipation (research shows you get as much joy from the anticipation of something than the thing itself- in some cases more!) you'll enjoy it more if you give yourself time to look forward to it.
I hope these tips help you enjoy food more while losing fat - it’s not a dichotomy, the two actually go hand in hand.
