Last week someone asked me how to kill the inner voice that kept telling them not to try because every time they fail anyway.
Here is my take:
If you want this time to be different…YOU have to decide that it will be.
You have to decide to fully commit.
Committing to something 100% is a lot easier than 98%.
and you need to commit to this 100% or it won’t work.
Here is why:
That 2% between 98% and 100% is the voice inside your head that’s telling you that you could give up. That constant inner dialogue and debate you have with yourself about will I or won’t I - that is what is so fatiguing.
I don’t mean 100% to sticking to calories or to always getting steps in.
I mean 100% to not giving up this time, to reaching out when you are struggling, to looking for solutions not excuses.
If you're going in thinking you're going to give up anyway you'll go in looking for excuses to give up.. and you will find them.
There will always be an excuse if you look for it.
The key to successful dieting is often resilience.
It’s deciding you’re not going to give up.
Which comes with accepting that there will be times when you do feel like giving up and choosing to ignore that voice in your head and keep going.
Set yourself up for success by having a plan of what you’re going to do when that voice does come up.
Because it will.
Even the most motivated people have days they want to give up.
On commit to 6, instead of giving up we ask you to promise to reach out to your coach when you feel like giving up.
That reassurance,
that timely pep talk,
that accountability IS the difference between giving up and failing again.. and making this time different.
