You procrastinate because you’ve convinced yourself it's going to be harder than it is.
You procrastinate because you've convinced yourself there will be a better time.
You procrastinate to try to keep yourself safe, avoid judgement, failure, rejection and uncertainty.
You procrastinate because you believe the discomfort of change is worse than staying where you are.
You procrastinate because you are scared of failing. And mostly because you're scared of how you will feel if you fail.
You procrastinate because you believe there will always be tomorrow. And the scary thing is there won't.
The perfect time isn't coming, it's not going to be easier tomorrow, and the longer you put it off the more you risk never actually doing it.
Start leaning into imperfect action and realise how much better you feel about yourself,
how much more in control,
how much less anxiety you have (action is the ultimate antidote for feeling anxious),
how much more productive and positive you are,
& how it wasn’t actually as hard as you thought it was going to be.
…Okay, it’s not technically a poem but I thought that sounded cool and like I was quirky and creative.
