I had a discussion this morning with a client who has an ankle injury.
She was thinking about pausing coaching for a few months until her ankle was better
(a little context: her goal is fat loss)
I get it… injuries are annoying as hellllll - I have had my fair share…
But, this is another example of the ‘all or nothing’ mindset trap that holds so many people back from achieving their goals.
Just because you can’t do things perfectly doesn’t mean you can’t achieve your goals
Think of it like this - there are road works on the road you wan’t to take.. no problem - take a diversion.
There is still so much you can do while injured. Especially if fat loss is your goal.
As an example I achieved this while recovering from back surgery - the only lower body work I did was very light leg extensions and hamstring curls on machines.
Being injured doesn’t need to stop you - we just need to find another way.
There is always going to be a reason not to do something, you can always convince yourself it’s going to be easier tomorrow but if you allow yourself to do that you’ll never achieve your goals.
Start now, accept it won’t be perfect and always focus on what you CAN do nothing what you can’t.
If you can apply that attitude you’ll be successful.
