Time Management is really self management
Time management is really self management and here is why that is important…
The reason I like to be annoying and pedantic about self management as opposed to time management is that time management is often used as an excuse.
‘Oh I just have poor time management’
AKA not my fault, just an innate part of me as a person, I am a victim to this personality trait….
mmmmm Kay.
This is an awful excuse.
& you fall to the level of excuses you allow of yourself…
You are far less likely to hear some one admit that they have an inability to manage themselves which is essentially the same thing.
Time isn’t changing, although it may not always feel like it, time is going at the same speed. The change is you and how you use it.
Thus, the part you have to control is how you manage yourself.
This is also helpful because it becomes clearer whether time management is in fact the problem…. and it’s always a good idea to figure out what the problem is before you start looking for solutions.
It may be that the reason you aren’t exercising regularly is that it’s not a priority to you or you simply don’t want to. If that is the case then time management advice isn’t going to help you.
It’s a bit like when someone is struggling with emotional eating and get told to eat more protein because it’s satiating… cool, but if the problem isn’t hunger then the solution isn’t going to be increased satiety.
That’s all I have to say today.
