Truth no one wants to talk about:
The default of modern life is unhealthy, unhappy and uninspired.
Being average in the UK means being overweight, inactive, and constantly yo-yo dieting.
It means drinking too much on weekends, eating ultra-processed foods as the staple of your diet and lulling yourself into a false sense of security because ‘it’s the norm’.
We normalise poor sleep,
chronic stress,
lack of exercise,
poor diet,
low energy,
low mood,
hating your job,
constantly complaining,
unhappy relationships..
It might be the norm but it isn’t harmless…
You just don’t realise it because it’s a gradual impact wrapped in social acceptance.
Mediocrity is marketed as “self-care” - nothing should be too hard. You should never be hurt, don’t put yourself out there incase you are rejected or you fail.
Being “average” is now claimed to be ‘balance’ - you don’t want to work too hard, exercise too much, stand out at all by prioritising the food you choose to put in your body, the time you go to bed, the way you spend your free time but that belief is quietly holding you back. You may not even realise.
In the UK, average means overweight, tired, stressed, and constantly knowing you probably ‘should change’ but seeing that everyone around you is doing the same so accepting that this is just the way it is.
Most people are living in a cycle of low energy, emotional eating, poor sleep, and calling it normal… which I guess it is.
The issue is - today’s normal isn’t healthy (or enjoyable)
If you are reading this and you don’t want to be average. Good.
You can change but you will have to accept that in order to do that you will have to reject the norm. You will have to stand out.
Rejecting the norm starts when you stop settling for what everyone else is doing and start living your life intentionally & choosing what actually serves you.
Decide to reject average.
If you don’t want to be average. You need start living your life intentionally (however that looks for you) in line with your values (what is most important to you).
This probably sounds judgemental - it’s not. I really don’t care how other’s choose to live their lives - it’s completely their choice & none of my business.
The issue is so many people aren’t consciously making that choice they are just floating through life and doing what’s ‘normal’ not realising that what’s normal will leave you unhealthy, unfit, overweight, unhappy and broke.
& that’s a real shame because life is short, you only get one and you better make damn sure you enjoy it.
Reject average, choose to be different.

Well I never looked at it this way before but it makes perfect sense and really resonates with me. My hubby literally just said "everyone has a bit of a tummy at our age..."! xxx
I love this! So true
