Here are 4 mindset frames that will help you enjoy your weekend more without blowing your diet.
1) Choose your indulgences & enjoy them.
You get around 50% of the enjoyment from the anticipation of a delicious meal/ drink/ food.
Give yourself time to look forward to them, you’ll enjoy it more.
2) The law of diminishing returns.
This is the observation that you get more enjoyment from the first slice of pizza than the 3rd slice of pizza.
Ask yourself: what is the next bite going to bring you that the one before didn’t? When the answer is ‘not very much’ stop.
3) Your response matters.
If you do over eat/ over drink remember it’s how you respond that matters most.
‘You don’t drown by falling in the river, you drown by staying submerged.’
Get yourself out that damn river. You will quickly dry off & it won’t impact long term progress.
4) No guilt.
You ate a little too much. You didn’t kick a kitten or burn down an orphanage. Chill out. Move on. Don’t ruminate on it & let it ruin your day.
