There is nothing special about tracking calories.
Tracking isn't the thing that's getting you fat loss results.
A calorie deficit is what is causing fat loss - you don't need to track calories to create a deficit.
It's just one tool.
Generally I don't think tracking is particularly enjoyable long term so it's my aim for most of you to move away from tracking at some point anyway.
Monitoring your calorie intake for at least a few weeks can be very eye opening so unless there is a specific reason you don't want to I would recommend this.
After this point you can decide if you want to continue to track or you want to aim for some consistency and mindful eating.
Side note: eating sensibly will get you VERY far. This process is far more about stacking up the choices in line with your goals than it is about exact calorie targets.
