7 reasons to avoid the Zoe diet:
#7 is the most important
Your glucose response to a single food is irrelevant & certainly does not tell you if a food is good or bad for you
Even if your acute glucose response to specific foods was useful information. Your glucose response is not consistent. It’s influenced by many things including exercise, your previous meal, the time of day, sleep, stage of menstrual cycle etc. Before someone is like OMG I need to worry about all these factors too.. you don’t. Stop worrying about it. It simply doesn’t matter acutely.
(Chronically elevated levels of glucose are a problem - that is pre diabetes or diabetes)Research now shows that poo samples are not predictive of your Gut microbiome. I think Alan Flanagan put this beautifully… you can pay £££ to send Tim Spector your poo but there are no evidence based benefits to doing so.
It’s elitist - telling people they need to spend hundreds of pounds to get tested for what they should or shouldn’t eat & then told to consume a far more expensive diet is pretty unhelpful for most. We don’t have an obesity crisis because people are eating ice berg lettuce rather than organic romaine. We need to make a healthy diet more accessible not less.
Impractical (and unnecessary) - what are you doing to do? Get your whole family tested and then make different meals for everyone based on their apparent needs?
I actually think a lot of the people who back Zoe know that it’s based on weak (at best) science but they are so financial, emotionally and egotistically involved that they now can’t admit it.
Probably the most important…We know what a healthy diet looks like, we know how to lose fat. The knowledge isn’t the issue. It’s the application. The likelihood is if you are struggling to lose fat the issue is behavioural not nutritional.

For sure some pro's and con's...I have a review somewhere of both that I will try and post when i get around to it :). It's a great entry-level wellness tool.
A lot of clients bring me their results, and they can be quite misleading. Because you're only compared with an average which is of course computer generated, it can't replace having a human looking at the data.
This article is full of inaccurate information!!! Sure, ZOE diet is not for everyone, but it can be used as a very helpful tool to show an individual how their body is reacting to specific ingredients. Tim Spector is one of the most reputable, respected and educated food scientists, a leader in his field, and who are you???
